  1. Fenchurch Street was site of the first tea shop in London the ABC (Aerated Bread Company), in 1864. The first places where women could meet without a male escort, which led to the forming of the early women’s movement.

Regarding “…thanks to information from a London cabbie who had purchased a gold watch chain…” – you cabbies are certainly in a great position to aid the police. Of course… that also puts you in a position to suffer injuries from criminals. Stay safe out there!
